Brushing to Fight Bad Breath

Halitosis, or bad breath, affects almost a quarter of the population. You can help fight your bad breath through making sure you do your part to support your oral health.

Our dentist, Dr. Jacob Shrayman, wants you to have a healthy mouth. Together with him, our team at Jacob Shrayman, DDS in Verona, New Jersey, want to remind you of what you can do to help fight bad breath.

Bad breath is typically caused by bacteria growing in your mouth. Bacteria can be found on your teeth, in your gumline, and even on your tongue.

To get rid of unwanted bacteria in your mouth, you need to brush and floss the recommended amount every day. We want you to brush at least twice a day for two minutes every day, and floss at least once a day. When you brush your teeth, remember to also spend time brushing your tongue as well, because that is one place that halitosis causing bacteria can live.

By taking steps to protect your mouth from bacteria, you can also help your breath smell fresher. Call us at (973) 791-4104 if you have questions about your breath. Our team of professionals will be able to work with you to help you with any questions or concerns you might have.
